Prana is life energy.

It flows into us, when we are born and when we die, it leaves us. We feel it through our breathing. This can be negatively influenced by a bad lifestyle (exhausting work, unhealthy diet, unnecessary thoughts). When breathing is disturbed, it affects our mind too. In mastering the breath the yogi experiences peace of mind.

Pranayama
In his pranayama classes Guruji teaches to consciously activate the life energy and to illuminate the mind.
Pranayama are yogic breathing exercises, that unite body and mind. Overall, there are many different exercises, with Anulom Vilom, Bhastrika and Kapalbhati being the most important.
